One of my all-time favorites. So fucking into Fragonard these days.
From a blue and white China bottle. This composition is a fine example of conventional representation of natural flowers; but for the peculiar character of the termination of some of the leaves, it would pass for Indian or Persian.

Confession: I have cried in museums twice. The first was in the Turbine Hall at the Tate Modern. No one can fault that. The second was at the Victoria & Albert Museum after stumbling upon Owen Jones’ drawings.
